Texture finish is also widely used in other finishing arts, such as finishing on wall, house, fence or other object. Texture finish on the furniture of course should be done with a slightly different touch with finishing to other objects. Texture finish on furniture products are made by considering the shapes and models of the furniture products.
Texture finish is a special finishing that requires high skill and sense of art from the operator to produce  a furniture with an attractive appearance. Texture finishes are usually made to do the finishing process on antic style furniture. In the antique furniture finish,
texture can be created in various forms and models to make an antique piece of furniture. Then with the application of glaze and stain, an attractive appearance of a furniture product can be obtained. Texture finished sometimes also can be found in contemporary-style furniture. For the contemporary style, the textures created are more neat, uniform and regular in shape and pattern. The color combination are made also more organized and neat, with the color chosen is tend to the brighter and flashy color.
Furniture with simple shapes and models are more suitable for the texture finish, since the shape and texture patterns will serve as an element that enliven and highlighting the looked of the furniture products. Texture finish is somewhat less proper to the furniture with complex shapes such as furniture with heavy carvings, since it could create a "too busy appearance" for the product.
Finishing texture is a solid color finish. The base color of the substrate will be completely covered by the finishing that is applied thereon. The color and the appearance of the finishing are dependent on a combination of colors used and the shapes and patterns of texture. Therefore the process of texture finish really need operators who have experienced, people who have high skills and also has senses of art as well. It is also a finishing job that requires a lot of hand work and thus need long processing time. For the production process in an industrial finishing with a large volume of work it needs a good system to do better control and to maintain the consistency of the results. A step panel that shows every step finishing process clearly is very important to produce consistent finishing result.
The basic finishing process for texture finish is as follows:
  •  Sealer.
This sealer is highly recommended to coat the wood surface or substrate beneath to make the texture can be formed more easily. For water based texture, the sealer will work to protect the surface underneath from water in the texture of paint on it.  1 layer of PU sealer can provide good protection to the substrate beneath.
  •  Texture paint.
Texture paint is applied to the surface by a special technique using the proper tools to form the desired patterns and forms. Wait until the texture paint is really dry to find the texture form and pattern. If necessary we can repeat the texture paint application to meet the desired texture form and pattern.
  •  Sanding.
The result of texture from the paint application is usually a rough and shape. Therefore, to produce a smooth finish it needs a sanding. Sometimes sanding is also done to make a special pattern of texture.

  •  Application of base coat
Application of base coat is done to form the desired color from finishing. Actually, if the color of texture is already matching with the finishing color; the application base coat can be eliminated. But usually the texture finishes need to make color. Due the making a color on the base coat is easier to do, then the base coat application is more widely used to form the texture color to the finish.

  •  Sealer
Sealer application serves to coat the layer underneath so that applications of glaze can be more easily organized and formed in accordance with the desired color and looked. Sealer will prevent the too much penetration of the glaze on the surface underneath that will create too dark color.

  • Glaze
Glaze is applied to strengthen the impression of texture. Glaze can be applied in accordance with the color and finish looked as desired. Thick glaze application followed with a strong highlight texture will produce a strong impression and high variation, otherwise the thin glaze will produce a softer and smooth finishing looked.

  • Top coat
We can repeat the application of glaze and sealer to obtain the finishing looked and color needed. Then after the get the color and appearance we can do the top coat application to protect the surface underneath and to form the sheen of the finishing.
